Helmholtz

You may be wondering what the small tube on our Resonator Delete is? The small tube is a Helmholtz resonator. In an exhaust system, a Helmholtz resonator is a container of gas (usually air) with an open hole (neck or port) leading into the resonator. The volume of air/gas in and near the open port vibrates due to the 'springiness' of the air/gas inside.

A common example is an empty bottle: the air inside vibrates when you blow across the top of it!

What is Drone?

Drone is a point where the exhaust note resonates in the cabin, creating a noise that most drivers dislike. This is why we have created Anti Drone Resonator Deletes.
